The much-anticipated Lahore Youth Festival 2024 is set to be a celebration of young talent across a variety of fields, including sports, arts, music, culture, technology, and artificial intelligence.
With the spirit of the "Shaheen" or eagle, as symbolized by Allama Iqbal, the festival aims to inspire youth to soar to new heights and unlock their potential.
From November 8 to 10, the grand finale of the festival will be held at Fortress Stadium, Lahore, where a series of exciting events are scheduled. The festival's outreach began earlier with a logo tour across 28 of Lahore's top universities, colleges, and schools from October 8 to 17, designed to raise awareness and engage students about the upcoming celebrations.
Notable competitions leading up to the festival included oratory contests at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) on October 17, an inter-university poetry session at Fatima Jinnah Medical University on October 21, and a futsal tournament held at Beaconhouse National University from October 22 to 24.
In addition, the Lahore College for Women University hosted a basketball championship from October 23 to 30, while Superior University organized a computer coding competition titled "Code Master" on October 22.
Other activities included religious contests such as Naat and Qirat competitions at Superior University on October 24, and musical performances, including the iconic "Iqbal Medley" by students from Government College Music Society and Kinnaird College on October 26.
Additionally, from October 24 to 30, the Lahore Cultural Complex hosted a series of auditions for the Talent Fest, Art Competition, Speakers’ Battle, and Battle of the Bands, with more than 40 educational institutions participating. Sports trials were also held at the Punjab Stadium from October 25 to 29, featuring exciting competitions such as 100-meter sprints, long jumps, high jumps, javelin throws, and tug-of-war events.
The final days of the Lahore Youth Festival will bring together a diverse array of sporting events, including a 4-kilometer fun race, marathon, 100-meter race, tent pegging, wrestling, gymnastics, and cycling races. Cultural performances will feature the highly anticipated Battle of the Bands, Talent Fest, Theme Song Competition, and exhibitions showcasing the latest in technology and artificial intelligence, along with art exhibits. To close the festival, a concert and a dazzling fireworks display will light up the skies, marking the culmination of an inspiring celebration of youth and creativity.
