The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed Australia’s T20I tour of Pakistan later this month, with all three matches scheduled to be played at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
The PCB announced that the Australia national cricket team will face Pakistan in a three-match T20I series beginning on January 29. The matches are scheduled for January 29 and 31, and February 1 at the Gaddafi Stadium.
The series will provide vital match practice for both teams ahead of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, to be held in India and Sri Lanka.
World Cup preparation for both teams
Pakistan have been placed in Group A for the T20 World Cup, while Australia will compete in Group B. The upcoming series is expected to play a key role in fine-tuning combinations and strategies ahead of the global event.

Match timings
Australia’s T20I squad is set to arrive in Lahore on Wednesday, January 28. As per the PCB’s official schedule, the coin toss for each match is planned for 5:30pm, with the first ball to be bowled at 6pm.
However, sources say timings may be revised due to weather conditions and heavy fog.
According to sources, the toss may instead be held at 3:30pm, with matches starting at 4pm to avoid fog-related disruptions. The PCB had earlier announced evening start times but has not yet issued an official update on the revised schedule.
All matches will still take place on January 29, 31, and February 1 at the Gaddafi Stadium.
Australia’s recent history in Pakistan
This will be Australia’s third tour of Pakistan since March–April 2022, when they played a Test series, ODIs, and a one-off T20I. Australia also played three matches of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan.
Australia won the only previous T20I at the Gaddafi Stadium, securing a close three-wicket victory on April 5, 2022.
PCB Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmed Syed said the board is excited to host Australia ahead of the ICC mega event. He described the tour as a blockbuster start to the year for Pakistan cricket fans.
He added that the Gaddafi Stadium has become a familiar venue for the Australian team, having hosted them for a Test, five ODIs, and a T20I since 2022.
