Commercial flight operations between Karachi and Lahore will continue without disruption after the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) cancelled a previously issued NOTAM related to air route closures.
The Pakistan Airports Authority has issued a new Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), officially cancelling the earlier notification that announced the closure of various air routes within the Karachi–Lahore Flight Information Region.
With the cancellation now in effect, commercial flights can operate as usual across both the Karachi and Lahore Flight Information Regions.
Closure plan for two days
Previously, the PAA had issued a NOTAM stating that different sectors of the Karachi and Lahore Flight Information Regions would be closed at various times over a two-day period.
According to that notice, specific air routes were scheduled to be shut from 7pm to 10pm due to operational engagements, impacting several sectors of the Flight Information Region.
No impact on commercial flights
The cancellation of the NOTAM means that airlines and passengers will not face any airspace-related restrictions. Aviation operations in Karachi and Lahore can now proceed normally, easing concerns raised by the earlier notification issued by civil aviation authorities.
