An attempted bank robbery in Kharan was successfully thwarted, with 12 terrorists confirmed dead, Chief Minister Balochistan Sarfaraz Bugti announced on Friday.
Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti confirmed that security forces successfully foiled an attempt by terrorists to rob a bank in Kharan. While initial reports suggested around 14 terrorists were involved, 12 have been confirmed killed during the operation.
Bugti praised the coordinated efforts of local security teams and stressed that swift action prevented a potential tragedy.
Terrorists misguiding students
Addressing the press conference, Bugti raised concerns over terrorists misleading students and exploiting them for criminal activities. He emphasized that these efforts are part of a broader strategy to destabilize the province by drawing youth into violent acts.
“This is a serious issue, as students are being misled and used for nefarious purposes,” he said, warning of the long-term consequences of such manipulation.
The chief minister noted that Balochistan’s security situation has improved significantly. “In the past, highways used to remain closed for seven to ten days due to terrorist threats. Today, no highway stays closed for even seven minutes,” Bugti remarked.
He also assured that steps are being taken to enhance the security of banks across the province, aiming to prevent future attacks and ensure public safety.
