The armed forces of Pakistan, the chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and all the services chiefs pay glowing tributes to Sawar Muhammad Hussain Shaheed on his 52nd martyrdom anniversary on December 10 (today).
Sawar Hussain was born at Jatli village in Gujar Khan in 1949.
During the 1971 war at Zafarwal Shakargarh sector, Sawar Muhammad Hussain Shaheed’s fearless actions and indomitable courage inflicted heavy losses upon the enemy, and he single-handedly destroyed 16 Indian tanks, said the Inter-Services Public Relations in a statement issued on Sunday.
During the war, he took an active part in every battle and spotted the enemy tanks close to a minefield near Harar Khurd village. During the battle, he received a burst of machine-gun fire in the chest and embraced martyrdom on Dec 10, 1971.
The Nishan-e-Haider recipient's martyrdom anniversary served as a powerful reminder of the extraordinary sacrifices made by the armed forces of Pakistan to defend the motherland.
