The seismological centre on Tuesday reported that an earthquake jolted parts of the country.
According to details, the tremors were felt in Chitral, Swat, Shangla and adjoining areas. No loss of life or property was reported. The earthquake measured 4.5 on the Richter scale. Its depth was recorded at 156 kilometres, with the epicentre located in the mountainous region at the junction of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Tajikistan.
The tremors caused panic among residents, with people in several areas leaving their homes and offices while reciting prayers.
