Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Saturday held a telephonic conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan to discuss the prevailing situation in South Asia following Indian aggression and Pakistan’s measured response.
According to the Foreign Office, Mr Dar briefed his Saudi counterpart on the latest regional developments, including the recent Indian attacks and Pakistan’s effective but restrained retaliation.
During the call, Prince Faisal expressed deep regret over the loss of innocent lives and appreciated Islamabad's efforts to exercise restraint amid rising tensions.
The Saudi foreign minister emphasised the importance of de-escalation and the need to prevent further deterioration of the regional security environment. He also reiterated the Kingdom’s support for peace and stability in South Asia.
Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact and continue consultations on matters of mutual concern.
The conversation comes amid heightened tensions between Pakistan and India, raising concerns among international partners over potential regional instability.
