Dubai residents have been advised to take precautions ahead of the rainy season to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply, according to a statement by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) on Monday.
DEWA urged customers to proactively prevent potential malfunctions or internal outages by following safety measures, including:
- Hiring Qualified Electricians: DEWA stressed the importance of regular maintenance by certified electricians to maintain safe electrical systems.
- Waterproofing and Insulation: Ensure that all outdoor electrical connections, panels, and meter boxes are waterproofed and insulated to prevent water damage.
- Securing Electrical Panels: Residents should securely close electrical panels and replace any broken glass on the electricity meter.
- Inspecting Roof Conduits and Earthing Cables: Seal any openings in electrical conduits on the roof and inspect earthing cables to ensure a stable power supply.
