In a move aimed at enhancing support and assistance to the Pakistani diaspora residing abroad, "Support Desks for Overseas Pakistanis" has been established within the Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICT) offices.
This strategic initiative aligns closely with the vision of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, emphasising comprehensive assistance and facilitation for overseas Pakistanis.
The establishment of these support desks is the result of collaborative efforts between the Special Assistant and the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA).
Mr Malik commended the relevant departments for achieving this significant milestone in addressing the concerns of overseas Pakistanis.
He praised the government's proactive approach in setting up these pioneering initiatives, underscoring the unwavering commitment to safeguarding the rights and interests of overseas Pakistanis.
The "Support Desk for Overseas Pakistanis" at CDA is dedicated to streamlining services for overseas Pakistanis seeking assistance at the One Window Operation. This support desk will offer one-stop services with a dedicated team handling Overseas Pakistani applications and providing services related to Estate Management Cases, Building Control Cases, Land & Rehabilitation Cases, and Revenue Cases.
The Chairman of CDA emphasized that the objective of these support desks is to provide convenient, one-stop services to overseas Pakistanis.
These desks feature a dedicated team of officials from relevant authorities, including Islamabad Police, the Revenue Department, Capital Development Authority (CDA), and the ICT Administration. They are available to assist overseas Pakistanis and provide services such as the issuance of International Driving Permits, Arms Licenses, and Domicile certificates, among others, with efficiency and ease.
The support desks established at ICT offices aim to offer similar one-stop services, including the issuance of International Driving Permits, Arms Licenses, Domiciles, and more. Mr. Malik expressed his appreciation for the Interior Minister, Sarfaraz Bugti, and Chairman CDA, Capt. Anwar Ul Haq, for their swift response, enthusiasm, and commitment to the immediate establishment of these support desks.
The government's determination to address the issues faced by overseas Pakistanis was reiterated, with all relevant departments and institutions urged to play their roles effectively.
These support desks are now operational at the One Window Operation, CDA office in G-7/2, and the Islamabad ICT Administration office in G-11/4, Islamabad.
