Barrister Gohar, the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has announced plans to challenge a recent decision by the Peshawar High Court (PHC) regarding reserved seats in the Supreme Court.
Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, he underlined the urgency of the matter, urging the Supreme Court to expedite the hearing by forming a larger bench.
The PTI chairman said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government will establish a committee to investigate alleged misconduct faced by party workers. The committee, co-chaired by Barrister Gohar and Sher Afzal Marwat, will provide recommendations to improve worker behavior and potentially increase their productivity.
Furthermore, Barrister Gohar disclosed that he, along with four other lawyers, met with the founder of PTI to discuss the recent developments in the PHC and the upcoming Senate elections in KP.
He assured that the PTI founder’s health is stable, and emphasized the importance of the upcoming rally in Peshawar on March 23.
While addressing concerns surrounding the recent election results, he dismissed the notion of a government victory, suggesting reliance on Form 47 for the outcome. He expressed concerns over attempts to manipulate the results through recounts, claiming such actions are illegal.
The PTI chairman urged the judiciary to intervene and prevent this process, fearing it could lead to unrest.
Additionally, announced a rally to be held in Peshawar on March 23rd, signaling its ongoing mobilization efforts.
