In a shocking and tragic incident, the historic city of Prague was marred by a mass shooting at Charles University's Faculty of Arts, situated in the heart of the Old Town.
The incident, which unfolded earlier today, has claimed the lives of 15 individuals, with nine others sustaining serious injuries. Czech Police have confirmed that the shooter has been eliminated, bringing an end to the horrifying episode.
The assailant's deadly rampage prompted a swift response from law enforcement, who evacuated the entire building as they grappled to contain the unfolding crisis. The police, utilising social media platforms, updated citizens on the situation, urging them to avoid the vicinity and remain indoors while the evacuation and subsequent investigations took place.
"We have already evacuated the entire building, and a pyrotechnic inspection is currently underway," stated the Czech Police in an official communication. The Faculty of Arts, located near Prague's Old Town, is not only an academic institution but also a popular tourist spot, adding an additional layer of shock and concern to the incident.
