US President Donald Trump has extended his greetings to Muslims across the world on the arrival of the holy month of Ramazan.
A special message has been issued on the official website of the White House conveying the President’s felicitations on the commencement of the sacred month.
The statement released on the White House website says that each Ramazan marks a period of spiritual renewal and gratitude for God’s countless blessings, and for many American citizens this holy time places emphasis on prayer and fasting.
It adds that Ramazan strengthens bonds, affirms shared values of compassion and humility, while the God-given right to worship freely forms part of the nation’s identity and stands as a pillar of its prosperity and strength.
The statement further says that, for this reason, the administration continues each day to ensure that all citizens may worship in accordance with their beliefs, as religious freedom means practising one’s faith without fear of persecution.
President Trump also stated that during this dignified and benevolent time, he prays for joy, blessings, unity and peace across the world.
It may be noted that Ramazan has commenced today in the United States, the United Kingdom and all Gulf countries, and the sacred month will conclude with the festivities of Eid al-Fitr.
