The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has officially revised its operational and public dealing hours for the holy month of Ramazan.
This change, aimed at facilitating citizens and bank employees during the fasting period, will apply to all commercial banks, Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), and Microfinance Banks (MFBs) across the country.
According to a circular issued on February 18, the State Bank has streamlined internal office hours. These timings ensure that essential banking operations continue smoothly without overextending staff during the fast.

For the duration of Ramazan, the office hours for Monday through Thursday will be 9am to 3pm, observed without a break. On Fridays, the office hours will be further shortened, with staff working from 9am to 12:30pm, also without a break.

Revised public dealing
For customers planning to visit branches for cash deposits, withdrawals, or other banking services, it is important to note the specific 'Public Dealing' window. These hours are slightly shorter than the overall office timings to allow staff to wrap up daily accounts.

From Monday to Thursday, banks will be open for public dealing from 9am to 2pm. On Fridays, the public dealing hours will align with office timings, remaining open from 9am to 12:30pm. Both schedules will operate without a mid-day break.
Automatic reversion to standard timings
The notification clarifies that these changes are temporary. The banking sector is advised that this schedule is exclusive to the month of Ramazan.
Immediately following the conclusion of the holy month, all banking hours will automatically revert to the pre-Ramazan schedule. Customers are encouraged to plan their financial activities within these morning windows to avoid any inconvenience.
