The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has increased electricity prices by Rs0.28 per unit for one month.
According to details, the Nepra issued a notification confirming the increase under the monthly fuel adjustment for December. According to the notification, the revised rate will apply to consumers of K-Electric and power distribution companies.
The decision followed a hearing on a request submitted by the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA). The CCPA had sought an increase of Rs0.48 per unit; however, after reviewing the arguments and available records, the Nepra approved an increase of Rs0.28 per unit.
The adjustment will be reflected in electricity bills for the current billing cycle of February.
