Pakistan’s security forces foiled a wave of coordinated terrorist attacks across Balochistan overnight, killing dozens of militants in intense operations that officials say prevented large-scale civilian harm.
According to security sources, Fitna-ul-Hindustan carried out cowardly attacks at 12 locations across Balochistan late last night. Security forces and law enforcement agencies responded swiftly, successfully foiling all attempted assaults.
The operations resulted in heavy losses for the attackers, with 58 terrorists killed in the latest engagements.
Terrorist death toll reaches 99 in 48hrs
Security sources said the total number of terrorists killed in Balochistan over the past 48 hours has risen to 99. Forces are continuing pursuit operations, including targeted ground actions and air operations, to neutralize fleeing militants.
There are also reports of additional terrorist casualties and major material losses, as operations continue in multiple districts.
Civilian casualties in Khuzdar
Security officials confirmed that terrorists also targeted civilians, martyring five members of a Baloch labourer family in Khuzdar. Among the victims were a woman and three children, highlighting the brutality of the attacks.
Authorities said these acts further underscore the indiscriminate nature of the violence carried out by the militants.
10 personnel martyred
During the operations, 10 security forces and law enforcement personnel were martyred while prioritizing the protection of civilians and critical locations. Security sources praised their courage, saying the forces stood “like a lead wall” against hostile elements.
Officials stressed that the sacrifices prevented far greater loss of life.
Sources alleged that Indian media and segments of Indian social media openly supported Fitnaul Hindustan during the terrorist operations. They said this once again exposed what they described as a nexus between Indian platforms and militant groups targeting Pakistan.
PM praises forces, vows to eliminate terrorism
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the successful operations and praised the armed forces for killing the terrorists. He saluted the ten martyrs, offered prayers for their elevated ranks, and expressed condolences to their families.
“The entire nation, including me, is proud of our martyrs,” the prime minister said, adding that Pakistan will continue the war until terrorism is completely eliminated. He reaffirmed that the nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces.
Aleem Khan and Naqvi hail bravery
Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan praised the security forces, calling the fallen personnel “brave sons” who sacrificed their lives to protect the homeland. He said operations in Balochistan will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the attacks and lauded the forces for timely action, saying 37 terrorists were killed in one of the key engagements. He saluted the martyrs, calling them heroes of the nation whose sacrifices will always be remembered.
Security officials said forces remain fully engaged across Balochistan, with intelligence-based operations ongoing to prevent further attacks. They reiterated that Pakistan’s army and institutions will spare no effort to protect the country and its people.
