Chief of the Turkish General Staff General Selcuk Bayraktaroglu called on Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir at General Headquarters on Friday, reinforcing the growing defence partnership between Pakistan and Türkiye.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Bayraktaroglu arrived at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, where he was presented with a guard of honour by a smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan armed forces.

The ceremonial welcome reflected the importance both countries attach to their longstanding military relationship.

During the meeting with Field Marshal Munir, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, the prevailing regional and global security environment, and prospects for further strengthening bilateral defence and military cooperation.

The two military leaders expressed satisfaction over the current positive trajectory of Pakistan–Türkiye relations and stressed the need for close coordination and enhanced defence collaboration.

Field Marshal Munir highlighted the longstanding brotherly relationship between Pakistan and Türkiye, rooted in shared history, mutual trust, and strong people-to-people connections.

He appreciated the consistent support and cooperation extended by the Turkish Armed Forces and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening military-to-military relations with Türkiye.

General Bayraktaroglu thanked the Pakistani side for the warm reception and praised the professionalism of the Pakistan armed forces.

He reaffirmed Türkiye’s resolve to deepen defence cooperation with Pakistan, including collaboration in training, joint military exercises, and capacity-building initiatives.

ISPR stated that the visit reflects the enduring strategic partnership between Pakistan and Türkiye. Both countries share a common commitment to promoting regional peace, stability, and security through closer defence and military cooperation.
