A medical update regarding the health of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, has emerged, with the executive director of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) confirming details of an eye-related procedure carried out after a thorough examination.
PIMS Executive Director Rana Imran Sikandar said PTI founder Imran Khan reported a complaint of decreased vision in his right eye. He stated that the matter was taken seriously and addressed following standard medical protocols.
According to Sikandar, a senior doctor carried out a detailed medical examination of the PTI founder inside Adiala Jail. He added that all necessary medical tests were also conducted during the examination to properly assess the condition.
Decision taken to shift to hospital
The PIMS director said that after the initial medical assessment, doctors felt it was necessary to bring the PTI founder to the hospital for further medical intervention. He clarified that the transfer was made specifically to perform a procedure recommended based on the medical findings.

He confirmed that the PTI founder was brought to PIMS for the recommended procedure, which was carried out with his full permission. He said the operation lasted approximately 20 minutes and was performed by qualified medical professionals.
He said Imran Khan was discharged after the operation.

The statement comes amid heightened public and political concern over the PTI founder’s health. PIMS officials emphasized that due medical care was provided in line with professional standards.
