The British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott on Saturday issued a statement urging caution as tensions between Pakistan and India continue to escalate.
In her message, Marriott emphasized that the UK government is closely monitoring the evolving situation, particularly the ongoing risks to air travel in the region.
"Airspace closures are currently in place, and further restrictions may be announced or changed at short notice," said Marriott.
She advised British nationals in Pakistan to stay informed and sign up for the latest updates on travel restrictions through the official UK government travel advisory website.
The statement comes as both countries grapple with rising geopolitical tensions, fueled by a series of cyber-attacks and military standoffs. The situation has already led to disruptions in regional air travel, with several flights grounded or rerouted.
In light of these developments, the British High Commissioner’s office has called on citizens to remain vigilant, particularly in the context of fluctuating security conditions.
The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has also urged British nationals to stay abreast of travel advice updates and be prepared for any changes in airspace regulations.
