Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 match scheduled for today between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium is likely to be postponed following the crash of an Indian drone near the venue, sources revealed on Thursday.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has urgently called a high-level meeting to assess the situation, which will also include key officials from the Ministry of Interior. According to sources, the meeting will determine whether today’s game — and potentially other upcoming fixtures — will proceed as scheduled.
It is believed that the remaining Pakistan Super League matches are likely to be shifted to Karachi.
Security concerns have intensified after the downing of an Indian drone outside the stadium earlier today. The incident has raised alarms over the safety of players, officials, and fans, particularly in light of heightened tensions along the border and multiple drone intrusions reported across Pakistan in recent days.
Officials familiar with the matter said the situation is further complicated by the partial closure of airspace around Rawalpindi, which may affect team logistics and crowd safety.
“There is a real possibility that today's match will be postponed,” a source close to the PCB told local media. “The safety of all stakeholders is the top priority, and we are in close consultation with the Ministry of Interior.”
Sources further indicated that the future of other PSL 10 matches may also be under review depending on the evolving security scenario.
