Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday urged Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia to mount pressure on India to reduce tension in South Asia following the Pahalgam attack.
According to details, PM Shehbaz held separate meetings with Kuwait’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Nassar Abdulrahman Jasser, the United Arab Emirates’ Ambassador to Pakistan, Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi, and Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki. On this occasion, the premier strongly denounced India’s baseless allegations of falsely involving Pakistan in the Pahalgam attack.
The premier said: “Pakistan has always condemned all forms of terrorism. Our sacrifices in the war against terrorism are not hidden from the world.” PM Shehbaz added: “Pakistan has sacrificed over 90,000 lives in the war against terrorism and has incurred a loss of over $152 billion. These sacrifices have proven useful not only for Pakistan but for the entire world.”
PM Shehbaz said that India’s efforts to jeopardise Pakistan’s achievements and divert the country from its path of economic development are incomprehensible.
Meanwhile, the ambassadors of the friendly countries thanked PM Shehbaz for consulting on the situation in the region. The envoys resolved to work together with Pakistan to achieve peace in South Asia.
On the other hand, during his meeting with the Kuwaiti Emir, PM Shehbaz extended his best wishes. “Both countries have always stood by each other,” said PM Shehbaz.
PM Shehbaz said that Pakistan had offered the global community a fair investigation into the Pahalgam attack. “We are waiting for the Kuwaiti Emir’s invitation to Pakistan soon,” said the premier. PM Shehbaz also briefed the Kuwaiti Emir on Pakistan’s stance following the Pahalgam attack.
