The government has announced a decrease in the prices of petrol and diesel for the next fortnight, starting from 1 May (Thursday).
According to the details, the prices of petroleum products have been reduced by Rs2 per litre. The finance ministry has issued a notification in this regard. The prices of petrol and high-speed diesel were slashed by Rs2 per litre each.
The new price of petrol was fixed at Rs252.63 per litre after a reduction of Rs2 per litre. Meanwhile, the price of high-speed diesel fell to Rs256.64 per litre following a further reduction.
