Rumours of Bollywood actor Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja heading for divorce have been making headlines for months.
Recently, speculation grew stronger after Govinda’s manager confirmed the couple’s ongoing issues. However, Govinda’s lawyer has now clarified the situation, putting an end to the divorce rumours.
Govinda’s lawyer, Advocate Lalit Bindal, who is also a close family friend, confirmed that Sunita Ahuja had filed for divorce six months ago due to certain misunderstandings. Speaking to India Today, he revealed, “Sunita Ahuja had indeed filed for a divorce around six months back after some misunderstandings, however, the couple has managed to sort out the differences and they are happy together.”
He further assured that their issues have been resolved, adding, “Such things keep happening between couples, but they are going strong and will always be together.”
Reports suggested that Sunita had been living separately for some time with their children Tina and Yashvardhan, in an apartment opposite Govinda’s bungalow in Mumbai. This fueled rumours of separation, but she had previously stated that they were still together.
Allegedly, the couple faced constant arguments and lifestyle differences, with some reports even hinting at third-party involvement as a reason for their marital troubles.
Despite the ongoing speculation, Govinda has remained tight-lipped about his marital issues. When asked about the divorce rumours, he simply stated, “There are only business talks going... I am in the process of starting my films.”
Govinda and Sunita Ahuja have been together for nearly four decades, having tied the knot in March 1987. While their relationship has seen its share of ups and downs, their recent reconciliation suggests that they are willing to move forward together.
