Controversy brews as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Marwat labelled the nomination of Shiekh Waqas Akram as Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairman as a "fraud" perpetrated against the public trust.
Expressing his discontent on X (formerly Twitter), Marwat asserted that neither PTI Founder Imran Khan nor the decision-making bodies within the party's top brass had consulted him or sought his input regarding the appointment.
He emphasised that the decision to appoint Akram did not reflect any changes in the initial stance of the party leadership.

"I will meet him tomorrow and inform him about the fraud in his name. I was not informed about the meeting of the committee nor was there any such thing on its agenda," Marwat declared, underscoring his exclusion from the decision-making process.
Marwat, known for his vocal stance on matters of governance and party affairs, reiterated the importance of transparency and democratic principles within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), emphasising that the party should not be subjected to arbitrary decisions akin to a "Rajwara" (monarchy). He vowed to take necessary steps to prevent any attempts to "hijack" the party's democratic processes.
Reacting to the development, Akram posted on his X account that he was grateful to PTI founder chairman Imran Khan, and party leadership for nominating him in light of Khan's instructions.
