The White House has stated that President Donald Trump was closely monitoring the ongoing tensions between Pakistan and India and has urged both nations to avoid further escalation, according to spokesperson Caroline Levitt.
"President Trump, who maintains positive relations with the leaders of both countries, has expressed a desire for the conflict to be resolved swiftly and peacefully," said the statement.
"Secretary of State Marco Rubio has also been actively engaged in the matter, holding comprehensive discussions with leaders from both nations aimed at de-escalating the situation," the White House spokesperson added.
“The Secretary of State has spoken directly with officials from both countries to promote a peaceful resolution,” the White House spokesperson said.
"The conflict between Pakistan and India has persisted for decades, and the current administration is keen to prevent further instability in the region," said the White House spokesperson added.
