A session of the National Assembly, presided over by Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, was held today during which Speaker Ayaz Sadiq raised the matter of the opposition leader before the House.
He informed members that several letters regarding the appointment had been sent on November 9, December 5, and on subsequent occasions.
The Speaker announced that the formal process for appointing the opposition leader would now begin. He read out the National Assembly rules regarding the appointment and declared the position of opposition leader vacant.
According to the schedule shared by the Speaker, the process for selecting the opposition leader will commence on January 14, while nominations can be submitted today or by tomorrow at 3:00 PM.
At the session, opposition leader Aamir Dogar assured that he would submit his nomination for the position of opposition leader by tomorrow.
