An agreement has been reached between the National Assembly Speaker and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) regarding the appointment of the opposition leader.
According to details, PTI’s National Assembly members were led by Barrister Gohar Ali Khan in the discussions, with participation from Asad Qaiser, Aamir Dogar, Atif Khan, and other members of the National Assembly.
The Speaker of the National Assembly assured that the opposition leader would be formally appointed by Thursday.
PTI’s chief whip will resubmit the nomination papers for the opposition leader tomorrow, while the Speaker will review the submissions on Wednesday. The official notification of the opposition leader’s appointment will then be issued in the National Assembly on Thursday.
PTI leader and former Speaker Asad Qaiser said the appointment of the opposition leader would be completed within two to three days. He added that a meeting had been held with the Speaker, who has now formally initiated the process for appointing the opposition leader.
