Sonakshi Sinha clarified that she would not be playing Mallika Jaan in Heeramandi and revealed that she will play a different role instead of Fareedan.
In a Netflix promotional video, the 36-year-old actress talked about the most heartfelt remark she ever received from Sanjay Leela Bhansali while filming Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.
Sonakshi said "The best compliment received on set was from Sanjay sir. He told me I'm an artist of impeccable calibre, in these very words and I thought I was going to faint at that very point.”
Sonakshi said, "She's got a great role," in response to a question about a different role the Dabangg actress would have preferred to play in Heeramandi: Bibbo Jaan's.
She also discussed the interaction she had during the Heeramandi premiere with Rekha.
Sonakshi remarked, "Even if I think about it, I become speechless. She was so thrilled. She told my mom that she was my second mom. And when my mom and I were there, she told my mom, 'She's my daughter, not your daughter.' So, she's that fond of me."
