As tensions continue to rise between Pakistan and India, both the United Kingdom and China have issued travel advisories urging their citizens to exercise caution and avoid areas near the volatile border regions.
In an updated travel alert, the British Foreign Office strongly advised its citizens to avoid travelling within 10 kilometres of the India-Pakistan border and within 16 kilometres of the Line of Control (LoC) due to heightened military activity and the risk of conflict.
“British nationals should monitor travel instructions closely and strictly follow the directives of local administrations,” the advisory stated.
The UK also warned against any attempts to approach the Wagah-Attari border, which has reportedly been closed amid the growing hostilities. Additionally, British citizens currently in India were advised to avoid unnecessary travel to occupied Kashmir and the northeastern state of Manipur, both considered sensitive areas in the current geopolitical context.
Simultaneously, China’s Foreign Ministry has also issued a warning to its nationals, advising them to steer clear of regions affected by the ongoing conflict.
A spokesperson for the ministry said, “We are closely monitoring the evolving situation between Pakistan and India, and we urge our citizens to avoid travelling to high-risk areas.”
Both the UK and China have reiterated their commitment to the safety of their citizens while calling for restraint and de-escalation from both sides.
