The Lahore family court has officially issued a divorce decree to well-known TV anchorperson Ayesha Jahanzeb.
During the hearing, Ayesha expressed her wish to end her marriage, stating that she no longer wanted to continue living with her husband, Haris.
In response, the court granted her request for divorce. The court also ruled that custody of the children would remain a shared responsibility between both parents.
Ayesha Jahanzeb shared that, although there had been discussions with elders from Haris’ family regarding her case of domestic abuse, an agreement with her ex-husband could not be reached, prompting her to seek the divorce.
Earlier, TV show host Ayesha Jahanzeb, who experienced domestic abuse, chose not to take legal action against her husband Haris Ali.
She refuted rumors of reconciliation, citing her decision not to involve her children in legal matters. The news presenter is planning to get a divorce and will be requesting custody of her children.
Ayesha Jahanzeb denied rumors of a reconciliation agreement, causing worry among her fans. She informed the district court judge that whatever occurred was torture and should never happen to any woman. Ayesha remarked that witnesses were also present when the agreement was finalized. The accused, who was detained by Sarwar Road police station under sections 354 and 506B, was later released on bail by the court.
The incident was reported on July 10, Haris was taken into custody for allegations of abuse following a complaint from Ayesha. She stated that her husband had physically abused her on three separate occasions in the last year, resulting in significant injuries. This caused her to pursue legal measures.
The FIR specified that Ayesha had endured abuse and harm inflicted by her spouse. In response to her complaint, the police quickly apprehended Haris and brought him before a judicial magistrate, who granted a two-day physical remand.
In the FIR, the TV show host stated that her husband started being abusive shortly after they got married in 2015, but she chose to tolerate his actions in order to save their marriage. She stated that Haris persisted in attacking her, even in the presence of their young daughters, and recently subjected her to serious physical violence.
