Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met Libya’s Commander-in-Chief, Field Marshal Khalifa Belqasim Haftar, during which the army chief reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Libya.
According to ISPR, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir received Libya’s Commander-in-Chief, Field Marshal Khalifa Belqasim Haftar, upon his arrival at General Headquarters. Matters of mutual interest came under discussion between the two sides. Professional cooperation and the regional security situation also remained under consideration. Emphasis was placed on the importance of cooperation between the armed forces of Pakistan and Libya.
The army chief stated that Pakistan would extend full support for peace, stability, and institutional development in Libya. The Libyan Commander-in-Chief laid a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument at GHQ and paid tribute to the fallen soldiers.
