The Lahore CCPO has ordered the collection of surety bonds from owners of rooftops designated for Basant, to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Lahore CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana regarding the peaceful conduct of Basant, in which various matters were reviewed to ensure its safe celebration. Bilal Siddique Kamyana has said that no more than the permitted number of people would be allowed on rooftops.
He directed that the Punjab Regulation of Kite Flying Act 2025 should be implemented fully. He also stated that no motorbike should be on the road today without a safety rod.
The Lahore CCPO also instructed the formation of police teams for monitoring during Basant and said there would be zero tolerance for aerial firing and the display of weapons. He added that action would be taken against violators without distinction.
