The price of gold in the global and local markets saw the third biggest drop in history on Monday, as the yellow metal saw another massive decrease in price.
The price of 24-karat gold per tola fell by a massive Rs21,500, bringing the new rate to Rs490,362, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold dropped by Rs18,433, settling at Rs420,406. The price of 10 grams of 22-karat gold also declined by Rs16,897 to be sold for Rs385,386.

International gold prices
The downward movement was not limited to Pakistan. In the global bullion market, gold fell by a huge $215, reaching $4,676 per ounce.
Silver prices in Pakistan
Silver prices also followed the trend. The price of 24-karat silver per tola dropped by a massive Rs601 to Rs8,405, while 10 grams of silver also decreased by Rs516 to be sold for Rs7,205.
Gold per tola in Pakistan has lost Rs82,500 in its value three days. This sudden big decline at the global level has caused a turmoil in the gold markets, causing trillions of dollars in losses.
