The National Highway Authority (NHA) has revised toll tax rates for the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway (M2), with the new charges set to apply from August 26, 2025, until August 25, 2026.
The annual increase comes under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) agreement with the Frontier Works Organization’s subsidiary, Motorway Operations and Rehabilitation Engineering (Private) Limited.
Why toll rates are increasing
According to the NHA notification, the 10% annual escalation in toll charges is part of the concession agreement signed on April 23, 2014, with FWO’s operating company. The contract mandates yearly adjustments from the motorway’s second operational year, ensuring funds for maintenance and smooth operations of the country’s busiest expressway.
