Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the tragic fire at Karachi’s Gul Plaza, which claimed several lives and left dozens injured, calling the loss of precious human lives “heartbreaking.”
In a statement issued on Sunday, Abdul Aleem Khan extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the Gul Plaza fire. He said the tragedy had deeply saddened the entire nation.
“The loss of life and property due to the fire in Karachi’s Gul Plaza is extremely painful,” the minister said, adding that such incidents leave lasting scars on families and communities.
Prayers for deceased
The federal minister prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased and asked Allah to grant patience to their families in this difficult time. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the blaze.
Abdul Aleem Khan expressed hope that the fire would be brought under control as soon as possible and that rescue teams would succeed in saving those still trapped inside the building.
PM Shehbaz also expresses deep grief
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep grief over the fire at Gul Plaza on MA Jinnah Road, which has claimed at least five lives and injured more than 20 people.
The prime minister conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the early recovery of the injured, assuring them that the government stands with them in this hour of grief.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed authorities to ensure the best possible medical treatment for all injured individuals, including those in critical condition. Hospitals in Karachi were instructed to provide full support and emergency care.
He also ordered all relevant agencies to work together in rescue operations, particularly in view of reports that 30 to 35 people may still be trapped inside the multi-storey plaza.
