Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel agreed to US President Donald Trump's proposed ceasefire in a statement on Tuesday morning.
The statement from Netanyahu's office noted that he had agreed to the ceasefire because Israel had achieved all of its war goals.
"In Operation 'Rising Lion,' the State of Israel achieved monumental historical successes and placed itself in line with the great powers of the world," the statement read.
The Israeli government has officially confirmed its agreement to the ceasefire with Iran, stating that the objectives of its military campaign, dubbed Operation Rising Lion, have been fully achieved.
In a statement released early Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reported that Israel has successfully neutralized what it described as dual existential threats posed by Iran—its nuclear program and its ballistic missile capabilities.
“Israel has removed an immediate dual threat—both in the nuclear field and in the field of ballistic missiles,” the statement read.
According to the Israeli government, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) also achieved complete air superiority over Tehran, inflicted severe damage on Iran’s military leadership, and destroyed dozens of key government sites in the Iranian capital.
In the past 24 hours, Israel claimed to have carried out significant strikes deep inside Tehran, reportedly killing hundreds of Basij operatives—described as part of Iran’s internal security and suppression forces—and eliminating a senior Iranian nuclear scientist.
Israeli government extended its gratitude to US President Donald Trump and the United States for their defense support and joint efforts in neutralizing Iran’s nuclear threat.
"Following the achievement of our operational goals, and in full coordination with President Trump, Israel has agreed to his proposal for a bilateral ceasefire," the statement said.
However, Israel warned that it would respond "forcefully" to any violation of the ceasefire terms. Israeli citizens have been urged to continue following Home Front Command safety instructions until full compliance with the ceasefire is verified.
The statement concluded by calling Operation Rising Lion a "tremendous success" that has secured Israel’s future and elevated its strategic standing globally.
Prime Minister Netanyahu is expected to address the nation later today.
