Sahibzada Farhan’s 41-ball 74 batting prowess Hasan Nawaz’s unbeaten 26-ball 51 and Abrar Ahmed’s (3-19) bowling prowess powered Pakistan to a series victory with a comprehensive 57-run victory at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Friday.
Chasing a 202-run target, Bangladesh were bundled out for 144, with one spared. After Tanzid Hasan’s blistering start (19-ball 33), nothing went in the favour of the visitors. But it was Tanzim Hasan Sakib, who provided entertainment to the Lahore crowd, with his maiden fifty 50 off 31).
BANGLADESH'S INNINGS
Mehidy Hasan Miraz was looking good for his 17-ball 23, lacing with two boundaries, before he was removed by Khushdil Shah.
Other batters Parvez Hossain Emon (8), Litton Das (6), Towhid Hridoy (5), Jaker Ali (0), Shamim Hossain (7), Rishad Hossain (1) failed to show any significant resistance with the bat.
Hasun Mahmud remained unbeaten on 16-ball 8, whereas Shoriful Islam had remained absent hurt.
For Pakistan, Abrar Ahmed was the standout bowler, bagging three wickets.
Hasan Ali (1-21), Faheem Ashraf (1-8), Haris Rauf (1-23), Shadab Khan (1-13), Khushdil Shah (1-25), Saim Ayub (1-14) took a scalp each.
PAKISTAN'S INNINGS
Earlier, opting to bat first, Pakistan had faced early hiccup, when Saim Ayub made his way back to the pavilion on run-a-ball 4. But after Sahibzada Farhan, who got the opportunity to play in the series for the first time, was lethal with the bat.
Farhan compiled a whirlwind 41-ball 74, studded with four boundaries and six towering sixes. He got an able ally in Mohammad Haris (41) as the pair stitched a staggering 103-run partnership to ensure that the Green Shirts gain early momentum.
Tanzim Hasan Sakib had removed Mohammad Haris. Subsequently, Pakistan started to lose a few wickets, but it was Hasan Nawaz, who ensured that Pakistan reached 201-6, with an unbeaten 51 off 26 deliveries, smashing two boundaries and three sixes.
Salman Ali Agha (19 off 12) got the good start, but he could not score big runs as he was trapped lbw off Hasan Mahmud.
Shadab Khan (7), Faheem Ashraf (1) could not show significant resistance with the bat.
For Bangladesh, Tanzim Hasan Sakib (2-36) and Hasan Mahmud (2-47) took two wickets apiece.
Rishad Hossain (1-50) took a wicket.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz (0-38), Shoriful Islam (0-2; absent hurt), Shamim Hossain (0-28) remained wicketless.
Pakistan and Bangladesh will lock horns in the final of the three-match T20I series at the same venue on Sunday.

The Pakistan national cricket team had elected to bat first against Bangladesh in the 2nd T20I at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Friday.
