Three Indian Army soldiers were killed after their vehicle plunged into a deep gorge in India-occupied Kashmir’s Ramban district.
According to news agency PTI, the deceased were identified as Amit Kumar, Sujeet Kumar, and Man Bahadur. The tragic incident occurred around 11:30am near Battery Chashma along National Highway 44, while the army convoy was en route from Jammu to Srinagar.
Heart-wrenching visuals from the scene showed the mangled remains of the vehicle lying nearly 700 feet below, with the soldiers’ bodies, personal belongings, and official documents scattered across the crash site.
Rescue operations were swiftly launched by the Indian Army in coordination with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and local volunteers. Efforts to retrieve the bodies and secure the area are currently underway.
