Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar held a telephonic conversation with the newly appointed UK Foreign Secretary, Rt Hon David Lammy MP.
The discussion took place as part of ongoing diplomatic outreach ahead of the high-level UN General Assembly (UNGA) events scheduled in New York later this month.
According to the Foreign Office, both leaders reviewed the current state of Pakistan-UK relations and underscored the importance of continued engagement on global issues of mutual concern.

Senator Dar extended felicitations to Mr Lammy on assuming office as the UK’s Foreign Secretary and expressed confidence that the two countries would work closely to advance shared interests at the international level.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional developments and agreed to maintain regular contact. It was further agreed that both leaders would meet in person on the sidelines of the upcoming high-level engagements at the United Nations.
