The International Cricket Council (ICC) is considering an expansion of teams in the World Test Championship for the 2027–29 cycle.
Details that emerged on Friday indicate that the ICC working group will put forward a proposal to increase the number of participating sides to twelve. The proposal includes the addition of Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Ireland.
It is further proposed that a one-match Test series be incorporated into the World Test Championship structure.
