Security forces successfully conducted coordinated operations in Quetta and Barkhan, Balochistan, killing 14 terrorists linked to banned organizations.
Several CTD personnel and law enforcement officials were injured in clashes, while weapons and explosives were recovered from militant hideouts.
The Counter-Terrorism Department carried out a targeted raid in Darakhshan area of Quetta based on actionable intelligence about armed militants.
Officials said eight terrorists opened fire during the operation, triggering an intense exchange. All eight were confirmed to belong to a banned organization involved in attacks on government installations and civilians.
Authorities recovered a large cache of weapons from the militants, which will help prevent future attacks in the region. Three CTD personnel were injured and shifted to a local hospital for treatment; their condition is reported as stable.
CTD operation in Barkhan
Simultaneously, intelligence-led operations in Rakhni area of Barkhan district resulted in the killing of six terrorists. Security forces recovered weapons and explosives from the site, preventing potential attacks on police stations, customs check posts, and civilians in the area.
Officials emphasized that these coordinated operations were part of ongoing counter-terrorism efforts in Balochistan to ensure public safety and maintain law and order.
Attacks on police and customs officials in DI Khan
Separately, in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a policeman was martyred and two customs officials injured during an attack by unidentified miscreants on the York police station.
The attackers were repelled by police retaliatory fire, and fleeing suspects also targeted a nearby customs check post. Security agencies have launched a comprehensive search operation in the area to apprehend the perpetrators.
