Punjab Minister for Information Azma Bukhari, while issuing a response to the court order against giving electric bikes to students, urged the government should be left to work. She asked that if male students did one-wheeling, should girls be left to suffer?
She further questioned if girls will be harassed only because of students being given motorcycles, remarking that now someone else will tell them whether lights should be installed on Canal Road or not.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Azma Bukhari said some people had taken it upon themselves to criticise only, while the international organizations were acknowledging that the economic indicators were improving. The price of roti is also being reduced further in a couple of days, and after Punjab reviewed the prices to Rs16, the KP government also decided to follow suit.

"The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government should do good work instead of criticising Maryam Nawaz," she insisted.
The provincial minister further said the establishment of an authority to control food prices had been approved, adding that it was the right of the people of other provinces to get some respite from inflation. "It is the responsibility of the governments to take care of inflation," she remarked.
Bukhari said that a 20kg bag of flour was available in Punjab for Rs1,800, as due to the efforts of Maryam Nawaz, the price of a 20kg bag of flour was reduced by Rs1,000. When the Punjab government was formed, its price was Rs2,800 rupees. She further said a kilogramme of tomatoes that was priced at Rs250 was now available for Rs50 now. The price of chicken meat in Punjab decreased by Rs230.
