Karachi Police have arrested a man involved in assaulting a motorcyclist following a collision in the Defence area of the city.
According to police officials, Salman Farooqi was taken into custody from Defence by locating him through his phone location, and shifted to the police station for further investigation.
The incident occurred last night when Farooqi, reportedly driving a luxury car, violently attacked the motorcyclist after a minor traffic accident.
The luxury vehicle used by the suspect, Salman Farooqi, has been recovered and transferred to the Gizri police station, according to police sources. The car was retrieved from a friend’s residence in Defence based on information provided by the suspect himself, police officials confirmed.
Salman Farooqi, the CEO of a private company, has been handed over to the investigation department. He was arrested on the road near Khayaban-e-Zulfiqar.
A formal case regarding the incident has been registered at the Gizri police station. The FIR names Salman Farooqi, his armed security guard, and unidentified individuals. The case was filed by eyewitness Muhammad Saleem and includes serious charges such as:

Police have detained two individuals, including Farooqi’s guard, from a bungalow during the investigation.
Eyewitness Account
Muhammad Saleem, a sales manager at a mobile company, reported that he had gone to Ittihad Commercial to recover dues when the incident took place around 8:15pm. According to his statement, a motorcyclist was involved in a minor accident while he was accompanied by women also.
Salman Farooqi, who was driving the car, physically assaulted the motorcyclist, and along with his armed guard, forcibly confined the motorcyclist in the car at gunpoint. He then beat the man, abused him, and threatened him.
The FIR further states that the women accompanying the motorcyclist pleaded with Farooqi with folded hands, but he allegedly pushed and threatened them. Saleem said he and many others witnessed the incident and recorded videos.
He came forward to report the incident as a responsible citizen, he maintained. The investigation is currently underway, with more arrests and evidence collection expected.
