The annual matriculation exams have commenced across Punjab, including Lahore.
With 921 examination centers established across the city. Section 144 has been imposed around the examination centers to ensure a smooth and fair examination process.
According to the Lahore Board, a total of 500,854 students are participating in the exams this year. All examination centers have been equipped with CCTV cameras to monitor the proceedings.
For the first time, the examination staff has been deployed under an automation system, marking a significant step towards digitizing the exam process.
As per the schedule, the morning session includes exams for Arabic and Geography, while the evening session will feature exams for Arts, History, and Woodworks.
Punjab education minister warns against cheating mafia
Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has issued a stern warning to the cheating mafia, declaring that controlling exam malpractice is his top priority. "We will not allow anyone to steal marks from deserving students," he stated.
The minister emphasized that effective measures have been implemented to ensure transparency in the examinations. "No student will be deprived of their rightful marks this time," he added.
To strengthen monitoring, all examination centers are under CCTV surveillance. Additionally, private staff has not been allowed to serve as exam invigilators this year. The number of private examination centers has also been significantly reduced.
Special monitoring squads have been formed to oversee the exams, and senior officials, including the Chief Secretary, Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, and the Chairman of the Task Force, will conduct surprise visits to examination centers.
