Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif resolved on Thursday to thwart any conspiracy against the state.
Expressing his thoughts on the occasion of the 26th National Security Workshop, PM Shehbaz said: “The government and the institutions are on the same page. The national security has connected directly with the economic security.”
He reiterated the need for implementing on the charter of democracy, saying, “We are ready for the charter of democracy.”
He highlighted the threats from terrorism looming over the country, saying, “The wave of terrorism is surging, unfortunately yet again. The operation has been launched against the separatist movement in Balochistan.”
Hailing the PSX historic milestone, the premier felicitated the nation. “The collective efforts have reaped benefits for the historic surge in the PSX.”

He recalled the protests in Islamabad, saying, “The events that transpired in Islamabad had left the stock market in a historic decline.”
“The process of the economic development had run slowly in the past. However, the country is now steering towards the right direction,” said PM Shehbaz.
Recalling the country’s decision to approach the International Monetary Fund (IMF), PM Shehbaz said, “There was no option but to approach the IMF to avert the risk of the country’s default.”
He said, “The economy had to witness massive harm due to the protests every now and then.”
“Every now and then, there are deplorable incidents transpiring in KP and Balochistan,” he lamented.
PM Shehbaz said: “The anti-state elements have been working on the agenda of spreading hatred and incitement in the country.”
“We will have to ensure the protection of our country,” he said.
The prime minister said: “The country is having the remittances of over $30billion. We got to rely on our resources so to ensure to free our new generations from the burden of the loans.”
He underlined the circular debt impact on the power sector. The prime minister made it clear that his government was making efforts to address the problems in line with the power theft.
“The power theft is being done of billions of rupees. However, we are looking to end the tax leakage,” he maintained.
He recalled that the country will have to rely on it own resources instead of relying on other countries for financial assistance.
Stressing the need for all the stakeholders to join hands together for the sake of the country’s uplift, the premier said, “All the sectors [agricultural, industrial] and government will have to work together to steer the country towards the prosperity.”
“It had been decided during the Apex Committee meeting that there is a dire need to thwart any conspiracy against the country.

“I had said back in 2018 following the general elections that there is a need to go for the charter of economy,” said the premier.
PM Shehbaz stated, “The changes of the government is quite normal across the world. But the national vision does not change.”
“The government’s role is to provide ideal environment for the holding of the economic activities throughout the country,” the prime minister added.
“The country has witnessed staggering economic loss as now there is room to wait for anything.
Emphasising the need for privatisation, PM Shehbaz said, “There is a need to hand over some of the things to the private sector in a transparent way. The government and military leadership are working together for the privatization of the institutions.”
He schooled the opponents, saying, “The powerful narrative is being made that how the people are being forced to face the hardships in the country. The KP had said in the past they are on the frontline on the war against terrorism.”
PM Shehbaz said: “Rs600billion has been awarded to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government in accordance with the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award.”
“But even today the KP government has not managed to establish the Safe City or CTD,” the premier maintained.
