This debate in the German cabinet has intensified following a recent attack in Mannheim on May 31, 2024, where an Afghan citizen reportedly killed a police officer and injured several others during an anti-Islam demonstration.
The incident in Mannheim, along with another attack in Moscow, has raised concerns about Afghan citizens across European countries. These developments have also led to increased support for Pakistan's decision to repatriate illegal Afghan residents.
