Canadian police have asked residents not to take unexploded Second World War hand grenades to police stations.
According to foreign media, the police issued a statement on social media on the matter.
In a post published on July 10, the police said that a man brought an unexploded Second World War hand grenade to a police station. The police asked anyone who finds a similar object not to take it to their local police station.
The statement said that if residents find any unexploded explosive material, they should leave it where it is and contact their local police.
Police said that, in such cases, an explosive ordnance disposal unit will arrange for the item to be made safe and disposed of securely.
