The United Arab Emirates has approved a new policy governing the use of social media.
According to the Government Media Office, children under the age of 15 will not be permitted to create or use personal social media accounts.
Emirati authorities said the new policy is intended to protect children from online risks and to promote the responsible use of digital platforms.
Under the new rules, access to social media platforms for children under 15 will also be restricted, and they will not be permitted to use the full range of platform features.
