Pakistan hockey team captain Ammad Shakil Butt met former national cricket team captain Shoaib Malik during his visit to the opening match of the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Thursday.
According to details, on the occasion, Shoaib Malik congratulated Ammad Butt on Pakistan hockey team’s qualification for the Hockey World Cup.
Expressing his thoughts, Ammad Butt said completion of eleven seasons of the domestic marquee tournament is a commendable step by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
He said the league carries recognition across the world and continues to strengthen Pakistan’s image in international sport.
"Despite prevailing global conditions, holding the PSL remains a major step by the PCB and the government, he added.
He expressed regret over the absence of spectators but said staging the league sends a message to the world that Pakistan is a peaceful country.
