The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has rejected the medical report circulating in the media regarding the treatment of party founder Imran Khan. The party’s central spokesperson, Sheikh Waqas Akram, said the report lacks credibility and raised serious concerns over transparency.
The development has intensified political tensions as the party demands immediate access for the family and an independent medical evaluation.
In a message posted on social media, Sheikh Waqas Akram stated that according to Dr. Asim Yousuf, he neither met nor spoke to Imran Khan. He further claimed that Dr. Asim did not examine or personally oversee the founder’s treatment.
Sheikh Waqas added that Dr. Asim himself has said he can neither confirm nor deny the contents of the circulating report. “For this reason, the PTI rejects the medical report,” he said.

The spokesperson alleged that the government issued the report after conducting examinations through doctors of its own choice. He claimed this raises suspicions and “shows that something is definitely being hidden.”
Immediate family meeting, independent exam
The PTI has demanded that the founder be immediately allowed to meet his family and personal physician. Sheikh Waqas stressed that this is a basic right and must not be delayed.

He further demanded that Imran Khan be immediately treated and examined at Al-Shifa International Hospital (Shifa International Hospital Islamabad). The examination, he said, should take place under the supervision of qualified specialists and Dr. Asim Yousuf.
Aleema Khan echoes concerns
Aleema Khan also issued a strong statement on X (formerly Twitter), categorically rejecting all medical reports circulating in the media regarding Imran Khan.
She said that while Dr. Asim Yousuf spoke to the doctors last night and they explained the procedure and treatment carried out, there is “no way for us to verify any of this.”

“We are even more concerned and worried,” she wrote, reiterating the demand that Imran Khan must be urgently transferred to Shifa International Hospital Islamabad for a proper medical examination under Dr. Asim Yousuf’s supervision and in the presence of his family.
Aleema Khan also said the family expects authorities to allow them to meet Imran Khan, calling it his legal right. She announced that the family would hold a press conference outside Adiala at 4pm after their meeting.
