The security forces killed 24 terrorists during a series of intelligence-based operations in Bannu and surrounding areas over the past 24 hours, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.
The military described the operation as a major success in the country's ongoing campaign against terrorism.
According to the ISPR, security forces conducted intelligence-based operations in Bannu and nearby areas, killing 24 militants during the past 24 hours. The military said those killed belonged to the Fitna-ul-Khawarij, which it described as an Indian proxy.
A large cache of weapons and ammunition was also recovered during the operations. The ISPR said the slain militants had been involved in several terrorist activities and attacks in the region.
Military vows to continue anti-terror operations
The military reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating terrorism and bringing those responsible to justice. According to the ISPR, operations against militants operating under what it described as Indian patronage will be intensified further.
The military added that foreign-sponsored terrorism would be eliminated and that intelligence-based operations would continue without interruption until the scourge of terrorism is completely eradicated.
"All those responsible for terrorism will be brought to justice," the ISPR said.
PM Shehbaz praises security forces
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the security forces and law enforcement agencies for the successful operation. He said the militants had targeted police personnel and civilians in terrorist attacks in Bannu, adding that the security forces had brought those responsible for the "cowardly attacks" to justice.
The prime minister described the timely and effective response of the security forces as commendable and praised their professionalism.
"The entire nation stands with its brave soldiers," Shehbaz Sharif said.
He reiterated that the complete eradication of terrorism and its facilitators remains one of the government's highest priorities.
The prime minister also said the government would thwart what he described as the malicious intentions of terrorist elements operating under Indian patronage and vowed that everyone involved in such attacks would be brought to justice.
Abdul Aleem Khan lauds successful operation
Federal Minister and President of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party, Abdul Aleem Khan, also paid tribute to the security forces for the successful operation. He said the Pakistan Army and security forces had made the nation proud through their successful actions against militants.
According to Abdul Aleem Khan, the sacrifices made by the Pakistan Army and security personnel in the fight against terrorism are unforgettable. He said every successful operation against militants strengthens Pakistan's secure future and demonstrates the determination of the state to eliminate terrorism.
The federal minister added that the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with its armed forces and that the national struggle against terrorism would continue until terrorist elements are completely eliminated. He also praised the professionalism of the security forces, calling it a reflection of national confidence and unity.
Abdul Aleem Khan paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Pakistan's peace and stability, saying every success against militants is the result of their sacrifices.
"The services of the security forces for the defence and peace of the beloved homeland are a source of pride for the entire nation," he said.
Naqvi says operations will continue
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also congratulated the security forces on the successful operation in Bannu. He said 24 militants had been killed during the intelligence-based operation and described the sacrifices of the country's security personnel in the fight against terrorism as a matter of national pride.
Naqvi said operations against anti-state elements would continue until they reached their logical conclusion. He stressed that intelligence-based operations remain essential for maintaining peace and stability across the country.
Calling security personnel "the real heroes" and "the crown of our heads," the interior minister said the entire nation is proud of the brave soldiers who eliminated what he described as Indian-sponsored terrorists.
He added that the success of the Bannu operation demonstrates Pakistan's firm resolve to cleanse the country of terrorism and ensure lasting peace.
